Staffing shortages: Staffing
shortages can be caused by turnover,
sickness, maternity leave, or lack of
qualified personnel in an area. The result
is putting a heavier workload on your
remaining staff with the likelihood of
employee burnout. PEL/VIP can perform the
work economically until the shortage is
corrected.
Peak workload periods:
Department staffing patterns are usually
based on an average workload. The problem
arises when that unexpected peak period
comes along and your staff simply cannot
handle the work. The result is employee
frustration at not being able to perform all
the treatments ordered while providing the
quality you demand. PEL/VIP can provide you
with experienced personnel that can help
complete the work on a daily, as needed
basis. When the peak period is over, our
work is done.
Doctor and patient complaints:
The doctor, patient, or patient's
relative complains that the treatments,
nursing rounds, x-rays, or other ordered
procedures are not being done. The patient
or family member doesn't know about "Codes",
"Stat EKGs" or overwhelming number of
treatments. They can only care that the
procedures ordered by the doctor are given.
The doctor complains that you are not
following his/her orders for correct
treatment of the patient. PEL/VIP can insure
that you or your staff will not be put in
this position. Your staff can be more
available to meet the sudden demands of
health care.
Lost revenue: In today's
health care economy, it is imperative to
provide economical service to the patient.
At the same time, it is important that
revenue be generated to offset expenses. PEL/VIP
can help your facility generate revenue
while keeping expenses under control. The
use of PEL/VIP's services is actually more
cost effective than staff overtime. Revenue
is generated when all the procedures ordered
are done on a regular and timely basis. At
the same time, this will reduce the risk of
not giving ordered procedures.
